In view of the increasing interest in order to further cryo-electron microscopy a special workshop will be organized by the Structural Biology Department of IVIC and the FEI Company in cooperation with the Inter American Confederation of Electron Microscopy Societies. The next workshop will be held from September 17th to 20th, 2007. Experts in the various fields will teach many aspects of Cryo electron microscopy in theoretical and perhaps more importantly practical sessions. The workshop will be held at the CLAFCME - Structural Biology Department, IVIC. The Laboratory of Supramolecular Structure has a range of essential equipment, including microscopes, ancillary equipment to do cryo-electron microscopy. Other, specialized equipment is available: RMC cryo-ultra-microtome, TV Tips 2Kx2K CCD Camera, RIGAKU liquid nitrogen generator, Cryo-Holder by Gatan, Vitrobot and CM-120Cryo-Electron Microscope by FEI Company. A number of cryo-experts are invited as teachers for the workshop.
